2023 YEAR IN REVIEW

American Ostrich Farms 2023 in review
As we bid farewell to 2023, let's take a moment to celebrate the highlights that made this year truly exceptional.

🥩NEW PRODUCTS: A CULINARY ADVENTURE

2023 marked the beginning of new culinary adventures as we launched a range of exciting products. Our curated meat boxes, tailored for culinary enthusiasts seeking both variety and quality, quickly became a favorite, offering a diverse selection of cuts. Notably, the introduction of the Whole Ostrich Leg, driven by customer demand and propelled by Sooziethefoodie's viral reel, became a standout addition to our specialty items. Complementing this, our ready-to-bake meatballs – born from the love our sample meatballs received at local farmers' markets – offered a flavorful option that resonated with both novice and experienced cooks alike.

📸 SOCIAL MEDIA: BUILDING CONNECTIONS

In a digital age where connections are paramount, our social media presence experienced unprecedented growth. A viral ostrich leg reel by Sooziethefoodie garnered a staggering 3.6 million views on Instagram, significantly expanding our online reach and attracting a substantial number of new followers. Our brand also embarked on exciting partnerships with Chuck Matto of Food Network's BBQ Brawl and James Beard Award winner Kris Komori. These connections with renowned chefs and BBQ masters enrich our offerings and engaging a broader audience with our premium meats.

🌍 PRESS: SHARING OUR STORY

Our commitment to sharing our values and mission reached new heights in 2023 through effective outreach and press engagement. A captivating Viewpoint segment served as a powerful vehicle to convey our brand's essence and unwavering commitment to quality. We were honored to be featured in publications such as Sun Valley Magazine, Taste, and the Idaho Farm Bureau’s Gem State Producer, providing us with invaluable platforms to share our journey, values, and vision.

🔪 SUSTAINABLE MEATS: A GREENER TOMORROW

The establishment of Sustainable Meats (SM) in 2022 marked one of our proudest achievements. Celebrating its first anniversary this May, SM played a pivotal role in supporting local farmers by offering essential slaughter and packaging services to independent, family-run farms lacking the necessary infrastructure. What sets SM apart is its resolute commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2023, SM significantly reduced its environmental footprint by remediating an impressive 120,000 gallons of water and generating a remarkable 128,000 pounds of high-quality compost, underscoring our dedication to creating a greener and more sustainable future.

🤝 COMMUNITY: NURTURING RELATIONSHIPS

At our core, we believe in serving our community, and 2023 was no exception. Active participation in the Boise and Ketchum Farmers Markets allowed us to connect with our community, delighting attendees with delectable meatball samples and fostering meaningful relationships. Expanding our local network, we became proud members of FARE Idaho and ID Preferred, forming valuable partnerships with local food and beverage businesses. Our founder, Alex McCoy, shared our innovative and sustainable practices as a featured speaker at the Sun Valley Forum and Climate Tech Speaker Series, solidifying our commitment to positive change and community engagement.

Overall, 2023 was a year of growth, innovation, and sustainability for our brand. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and eagerly anticipate sharing an even more exciting journey with you in the years to come. Thank you for being an integral part of our story, embracing exceptional ostrich meat, and championing sustainable practices.
